Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company Supports Ethics Awareness Month

The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company is pleased to announce its support of and participation in Ethics Awareness Month in the financial services industry.  As the nation's second oldest mutual life insurer, Penn Mutual is a highly respected model of corporate values and principles of ethical business behavior and cites integrity as one of its core business values.

Ethics Awareness Month was instituted in 1990 by The American College to increase awareness of ethics in the financial services industry.  Today, The American College Center for Ethics in Financial Services continues to mark Ethics Awareness Month by implementing initiatives designed to heighten awareness of and find ethical solutions to the crucial ethical issues confronting the financial services industry today.

As part of its participation in Ethics Awareness Month, Penn Mutual's executive vice president and chief marketing officer Eileen McDonnell, moderated the kick-off event-a webcast hosted by The American College, "The Role of the Ethical Leader:  How To Put Ethics Into Practice in Financial Services."

According to Robert E. Chappell, Penn Mutual's chairman, president and chief executive officer, "One of our core values is integrity.  Throughout our 161-year history, integrity has been and continues to be part of the fabric that makes our company strong.  Because of the high value we place on doing business the right way, every day, Penn Mutual is proud to support Ethics Awareness Month."

Penn Mutual's commitment to integrity and ethical conduct is underscored by its membership in the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association (IMSA).  The company has committed itself to IMSA's market conduct standards and conducted a complete review of its own systems and services. In addition, Penn Mutual demonstrated to an outside, independent examiner that it has established the policies and programs needed to recognize and meet consumers' needs in the purchase and servicing of individual life insurance and annuities.
