The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company Announces Sponsorship of The Rugby Business Network

HORSHAM, Pa. – April 20, 2016 – The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company (Penn Mutual) announced its sponsorship of The Rugby Business Network (RBN), a not-for-profit organization for senior business leaders with a passion for rugby.

This is Penn Mutual’s latest connection with the fastest growing sport in America, after establishing a relationship when it became the title sponsor of The Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship and Penn Mutual Varsity Cup in 2015, and later with the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO). Since then, the company has engaged with the enthusiastic and dedicated rugby community through events and various sponsorships. This announcement is the latest in an effort to support business men and women who share a passion for the sport.

Since its inception in 2010, RBN has become the largest business network in the world for rugby enthusiasts, with 30,000 members in over 60 cities. The members work together to inspire and build a sense of anticipation about the potential of rugby and business, whether that is by supporting charities associated with the game or sponsoring elite-level competitions.

Penn Mutual will be an official strategic partner of the RBN in the United States, and will work together with the organization to help expand the RBN footprint and establish events in locations where Penn Mutual has a presence.

“Joining forces with the Rugby Business Network truly reinforces our commitment to the rugby community and is a great network for Penn Mutual. Rugby enthusiasts have welcomed Penn Mutual with open arms and we are excited to continue to give back and support ruggers in business,” says Tom Harris, Penn Mutual Executive Vice President, Distribution.

RBN founder Colm Hannon commented, “We are thrilled to have a partner of the standing of Penn Mutual, all the more so due to their already long-term support of rugby and its values.  We look forward to working with them across the USA to deepen business ties with rugby, while helping the sport’s less fortunate players make the often difficult transition to their post-playing careers.”
